Toyota to make cars for low emissions in China - Reuters

(TOKYO, April 19, Reuters) - Toyota Motor, Prius hybrid car manufacturer, will start building low emission cars and their components in China, said the President of the constructor.

In a speech at the Shanghai motor show, President of Toyota Akio Toyoda said his company wanted to produce green vehicles and components in China.

"We want to introduce all our environmental technologies in China", Toyoda said, according to a copy of his speech.

In China, market in the world of the most important car in volume, Toyota is behind of other big automakers including Volkswagen AG (VOWG_p.DE). Build cars like hybrids, it can help to catch up with the largest economy in Asia.

At the Japan exit Prius cars and other models has been hampered by a disruption in supplies of parts after the March earthquake and the tsunami of the Japan.
