(TRIPOLI, April 4, Reuters) - the Libyan Government Envoy undertook a trip to Europe to discuss ending the fighting, but gave no sign of any major setback in a war, which ground to a stalemate between the rebels and forces loyal to Muammar al-Gaddafi.
Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelati Obeidi flew to Athens Sunday carrying a personal message from Kadhafi to Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou that the Libya intended that fighting to the end, a Greek Government official told Reuters.
"It seems that the Libyan authorities are seeking a solution", Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas told journalists, adding Obeidi was the following due to the maturity date of trip to Malta and the Turkey.
But no there was no indication on what Tripoli could be ready to offer - beyond the willingness to negotiate - to end a war that has bogged down on a front line in the city is Brega oilleaving civilians caught in the trap by the forces of Kadhafi in the West.
